If you are a new
knitter and have an interest in sewing, this is a great project for you. The
knitting is easy and felting will hide any mistakes. If you want to try
your hand at felting,
this is a great project because the knitting is so easy. The sewing
instructions are included and no experience is required-- it's simple and we'll
talk you through it.
Yarn: 100% worsted weight yarn: 300 yards for main
color and less than 5 yards for embroidery detail.
Additional
Materials: 1 ½ yards
100% cotton fabric (For the bag shown, we used Amy Butler’s Full Bloom fabric in Forest from her August Fields collection);
matching sewing thread; and fusible interfacing to keep the fabric appliqué
smooth and minimize fraying.
Needles: Size 10 straight needles and yarn needle,
sewing needle and cotton thread to match the exterior bag color
