This pattern by Terry Neal for South West Trading Company is for either a scarf or shawl. The samples in the pictures were knitted using "Melody" by South West Trading Company. It’s a very lightweight ladder ribbon yarn with a subtle shimmer. Made from 65% rayon and 35% nylon, it is commonly suited to shawls, tunics, and novelty tops. Available in pastel to bright solid shades. The pattern can easily be adapted to any fingering weight yarn, as well. The pattern is knitted in garter stitch. Simply adjust the needle size according to the yarn weight. You can also adjust your needle size to have looser or tighter knit stitches. Experiment and Enjoy! All yarn amounts are guidelines. You can use more yarn if you want your scarf or shawl longer.

SCARF: 1 skein of yarn (approx 400 yds)

SHAWL: 2 skeins of yarn (approx 800 yds)

Needle size: US Size 10 or 10 ½ (circular needles are recommended), and a US Size 13 to cast off.
